Board Appointment

Dignity plc, the UK's only listed provider of funeral related services, is delighted to announce the appointment of John Castagno to the Board as independent Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 23 July 2021.

John is an experienced Non-Executive Director with extensive experience in support industries and the financial services sector. John is skilled in both business planning and business development. He is currently an independent Non-Executive Director of Post Office Insurance. John is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

John will initially serve on the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

Gary Channon, Chief Executive, commented:

"I am delighted that John has joined the Board of Dignity plc. His significant financial and commercial experience will be invaluable as the Company’s independent Non-Executive Chairman. I very much look forward to working with him in my new role as CEO, both on the future success of the business and further appointments to the Board.

I am also pleased to announce that Dean Moore will remain a Director of the Company.

As previously announced, with John's appointment, I will now stand down as Executive Chairman to become CEO."

John Castagno added:

At the date of this announcement, Mr. Castagno has no interest in the ordinary shares in Dignity plc. 

This announcement is made pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.11R. There are no other details required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
