Charity Car Wash Raises £543
Staff from Woodfield Park Funeral Home hold car wash to raise money for defibrillators to be installed in all Welsh schools.
The memorial gardens at Woodfield Park Funeral Home in the Welsh Valleys are visited every day, without fail, by Betty, the grandmother of 15 year old Jack Thomas. He died of an undetected heart condition, as do over 800 children a year.
Staff at the branch pledged to help the charity that Betty and her daughter, Jacks mother, set up to raise money for defibrillators to be installed in all schools in Wales. A car wash was held at their premises in Penmaen, Wales and fuelled by bacon rolls and enthusiasm, £543 was raised in just three hours.
David Stevenson, Business Manager
"We are delighted, but it doesn't end here. We have another event planned for the spring and we aim to bring the total up to £2,000."
