Frederick W Paine marks 125th anniversary
A flock of white doves, soaring from the churchyard of All Saints, Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, brought a moving finale to a Remembrance Service to mark the 125th anniversary of Frederick W Paine.
Families were invited to submit a photograph of their loved one and more than 100 of these were projected onto a giant screen during the service. The service was conducted by local clergy, accompanied by Kingston Orpheus Choir and St Andrew’s Church Choir.
Mike Taafe, area manager for South West London, said: “The service was arranged to remember Frederick Paine and the 250,000 people we have arranged funerals for since 1884.”
Guests at the service included Sue Saville, President of the National Association of Funeral Directors, and Dignity Chief Executive, Mike McCollum.
