Handbags and Gladrags raise funds for local hospice
James Scott and Thomas Marin Funeral Directors based in Edinburgh hosted a ‘Handbags and Gladrags’ event in May and raised over £400 for Eagle Lodge Care Home, run by the Salvation Army. The event was organised by funeral service arrangers, Valerie Chapman and Lorraine Lovatt from the funeral homes.
Valerie said: "This was a fun idea to get donations fro the Eagle Lodge. Everyone who came along bought a ticket and brought three bags or accessories that they no longer wanted and were able to swap these with other people’s items. There was a disco and some games and everyone was so generous on the day."
Lorraine added: "The Salvation Army is a wonderful charity and helps so many people in all walks of life. My friend’s mother is cared for in Eagle Lodge and all of the staff are wonderful."
