Making Easter Eggs-tra special
Staff at Dignity funeral homes and offices across the UK have once again spread Easter cheer by collecting thousands of chocolate gifts for charities and good causes. Dignity started the Easter Egg Appeal in 2002 and below is just one of the many stories where Dignity people helped bring a smile to the face of others this Easter.
Three branches in Lanarkshire collected a grand total of 1,641 Easter eggs which were donated to local nursery schools, special needs schools, care homes, The Salvation Army and Women’s Aid.
Joseph Potts Funeral Directors in Bellshill collected 241 eggs at the Bellshilll branch, 729 at the Blantyre branch whilst Smiths Funeral Service also in Blantyre collected 671 eggs.
Alan Mathie, funeral manager, said: "We have received eggs from many sources including individuals, local churches, local businesses and Police Scotland. I would like to thank all of my staff who have taken part in the collection and distribution of the eggs. I am extremely proud of them for both their enthusiasm and commitment."
