The new look branch in Witney
New look for Oxfordshire branch
The refurbishment of Fishers & Townsend in Witney, Oxfordshire involved a complete renovation of the branch interior. The reception area has now been opened up and enlarged to include a memorial display and comfortable seating and the Chapel of Rest has been redecorated with new soft furnishings, carpeting and lighting installed.
Externally all the fascias have been repainted and the glass has been changed in the windows to allow more light into the branch.
"Before the refurbishment the branch was very dark and unwelcoming but now the building has a feeling of warmth and airiness," said business manager, Ian Barnett.
"Since the work has been completed we have received so many positive comments from the people of Witney and the refurbishment has considerably raised our profile in the area," he continued.
A Service of Re-Dedication took place on 4 December 2009 and was attended by local clergy, representatives from the local authority and Graham Townsend, the former owner of the business, who was extremely impressed with the new look of the branch.
