Pam wins Funeral Service Excellence Award
Pamela Wise, a funeral director at Henry Paul Funeral Directors in Ruislip, Middlesex, has been presented with an award for 'Achieving Funeral Service Excellence' by the Western District of the London Association of Funeral Directors. Ed Brunskill, chairman of the association, presented Pam with her award at their bi-annual meeting on Tuesday 11 November.
Ed Brunskill said: "I had always wanted to introduce a recognition scheme for the members of the Western District and I’m very pleased that I have been able to do so during my term of office. We have many arrangers, bearers and funeral directors who repeatedly go the extra mile or really make a difference to their clients."
"Pam Wise, once nominated, was clearly in the running for the presentation of this inaugural award," continued Ed. "I was very pleased as she is a worthy winner. Congratulations Pam, well done."
Dignity’s area manager for North West London, Clark Kerr, said: "Pam has been at the forefront of our community activity, leading by example and regularly receives high praise from the families she serves. It is for these reasons that I nominated her for the award."
Over the last six months, Pam has raised over £400 with a charity sky dive for Marie Curie Cancer Care and has also been working hard to arrange Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising a further £300. Pam and her colleagues have also raised £150 for the Michael Sobell Hospice at the Ruislip Manor Fun Day and co-ordinated Memorial Services at Christmas.
Pam was overwhelmed with the award and said: "It was a lovely surprise to be nominated for this award and recognised in such a way by my colleagues, clients and the LAFD. I thoroughly enjoy my job and look forward to continuing to serve the local community in the best way I can."
